Frequently Asked Questions

Q.    What's new with the Agriculture Program area?

A.   We are proud to showcase the Unlimited Garden.  It is truly a community project that everyone can be proud of.  To learn more about it, follow the following link.

Q.    Can I have you test my soil?

A.    We would be happy to test your soil for you.  We can do two different types of tests.

  1. An in-house pH test can determine whether or not you need to add amendments to your lawn or garden soil.  In-house soil tests can usually be done while you wait and cost $1.00.  To prepare a soil sample, take soil from 3 or 4 spots in your lawn/garden.  We will need approximately 1 Cup.  If a Master Gardener is not available when you bring the sample in, someone will call you with the results (usually in a day or two).

  2. A full soil test can be done through Cornell University.  We take soil from your garden or lawn and send it to CU for a full analysis.  This includes tests for the following:  Please allow   weeks for the results.
